Marvel Rivals utilizes destructible environments and Team Up superhero synergies. These aren't new concepts but NetEase Games believes these features help to make matches feel dynamic and fresh. They mention it several times in their marketing and video game descriptions.

Superheroes will be able to shape their environments and create makeshift weapons which further emphasizes the need to use the characteristics of each map to win matches.

The Marvel superhero roster contains more than a dozen fan favorites such as Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Hulk, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other Avengers plus some supervillains. The Alpha Test starts this May.

There will be seasonal drops that introduce new superheroes and maps across the Marvel Multiverse. New Marvel superheroes and world settings may lead to new strategies.

From the previews, gameplay, and game descriptions available, it appears that this game shares many similarities to other fast-paced team shooters like Overwatch and Valorant. This game even shares similar UI and HUDs but with a heavy reliance on map design, environmental shifts, and hero synergies.

If you're a fan of other shooters but have a passion and love for Marvel superhero video games then Marvel Rivals may be a fun way to merge the two.
